1980 Foundation and commencement of tuition with about 60 students in Heidelberg. Expansion of range of courses and opening of branches in Darmstadt, Eberstadt/Michelstadt, Wiesloch and Bensheim. 1981 The first F+U language school opens in Heidelberg. 1986 The first College of Education in Heidelberg, the Fachschule für Arbeitserziehung is approved by the Governmental Committee in Karlsruhe. Further schools are opened over subsequent years. 1990 Following German Reunification, branches are established in Bautzen, Erfurt, Gotha, Chemnitz, Mühlhausen and Neukirch. 1991 We offer seminars in the Hotel and Catering trades in Alassio, Liguria (Italy). 1994 The FORCE-Project "Training concepts for small and medium-sized enterprises in Saxony and Liguria" initiates our participation in European educational programmes. 1995 Vocational educational schools are approved by the state - first in Neukirch, then in Chemnitz. Both rehabilitation establishments in Sachsen combine vocational schools and boarding schools. We begin organizing language courses overseas. 1996 Our branches in Thuringia and Saxony become independent subsidiary companies. We offer our first state-registered correspondence course "Training in Network Administration" 1997 Within the parameters of the PHARE programme we restructure the state-controlled Food Standards Authority in Lithuania. 1998 F+U is established in Tenerife, Spain. We open a new branch in Ludwigshafen. 1999 The F+U Group is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. 2000 Foundation of Academy 24, offering correspondence courses in Information Technology. A team of Chinese university lecturers visit courses for vocational training in Chemnitz. 2001 In Tenerife the first job-centre courses (ICFEM) are carried out. In Heidelberg the training as “State Examined Educator for Children with Disabilities with Technical College Certificate (Fachhochschulreife)” begins. The Heidelberg Private School Centre opens with a one-year vocational course for the attainment of the Technical College Certificate (BKFH). 2002 International co-operation is consolidated. With the European "Leonardo da Vinci" initiative the F+U Saxony becomes a project partner for 13 programmes in the Canary Islands. The F+U Berlin International Academy with language schools in Berlin and Chemnitz is established. In Heidelberg, the Private School Centre expands in a business science direction through a vocational secondary school. 2003 In Heidelberg a Centre for Further Training in Business Management is established. In Chemnitz the vocational Schule Gerd Condé expands in a nutritional science direction through the vocational secondary school. The department for the Arrangement of Employment is established. 2004 Courses in German as a Foreign Language begin in the F+U school network in Berlin, Chemnitz, Erfurt/Weimar, Göttingen, Heidelberg and Vienna. The Chemnitz private school centre is established. Cooperation is established with the International Vocational College, the “Berufsakademie”, in North Hesse and the International Vocational College in South Hesse is established. New branches open in Hamburg and Cologne. F+U branches open in Vilnius, Lithuania and Zagreb, Croatia. The F+U Group’s international distance-learning college begins operating. |
