The FD Development Fund, based in Chemnitz was established on 14 April 1994.

The Development Fund works in close collaboration with German businesses and companies from abroad, be they private of state run industries. One of the main tasks is to establish contact and set up business links in all areas of economic development.

Since 1991 our representatives have gained first hand knowledge in the all areas of international business co-operation, both in Germany and abroad.

They are well informed about the economic climate of the day are well placed to respond to the needs of outside partners.

Within our team we have specialists with extensive knowledge of the different languages, customs and cultures of other countries.

The course is well run and there is ample hotel room.

For the on-going education of middle and high level managers we have external consultants covering the following range of topics:
· Questions on the current market economy
· Development of local contacts
· Introductions to German companies
· Sharing of the practical experiences within businesses

Export drives, executive tours, as well as regular discussion groups, in-house and with outsiders, create a climate for the development of international business connections and long term relationships. This is especially beneficial for medium sized companies.

The Development Fund has forged working relationships with selected countries within the EU, Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, China, Cuba and Brazil.

The Development Fund has been instrumental in setting up national and international projects with countries in the EU, States of the Soviet Union, Mongolia, the People's Republic of China, Central and South American countries as well as Central and Eastern European states (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary).

In conjunction with the Federal State of Saxony and in many cases the Federal Ministry of Economy and Employment 30 executive visits to the eastern block took place.

The Development Fund, with a view to encouraging international economic integration and co-operation, undertook international community projects especially within the EU and collaborated on international projects in co-operation with other organisations.

The Development Fund will continue to promote its activities in the important field of business collaboration and co-operation. The main aim is to give a high standard of customer care and advice, and work in conjunction with our business partners.
